Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) products have taken the world by storm due to the latest COVID-19 pandemic. At Nebula Group we felt that, due to this global PPE requirements, we had the responsibility to assist in any way we could with the delivery of products that prevent and control the wide spread of this virus. The executive team at Nebula Group looked at our current internal divisions and the resources available to us and formulated a game plan to utilize our contacts overseas to assist in the manufacturing and development of PPE products, including gloves, masks, and gowns.
Leveraging the network
With an extensive existing network and partners in multiple countries, we established a branch of Nebula Group called Nebula Medical Supplies. As a registered Health Canada Importer with an active MDEL license, we started to get calls from hospitals, dental practices, and municipalities pleading for help with the shortage of PPE supplies.
Combatting poor quality
A few months into the pandemic, there was a noticeable shift in customers buying PPE products. The quality, consistency, and delivery standards from multiple suppliers started to get scarce. One-off container resellers started to flood the market with poor quality, high priced products that in some cases did not have the correct approvals, nor MDEL licensing, but unfortunately got passed off as an alternative since other supplies were starting to dry up.
We are not out to make a quick buck in a short time period... We want to partner with you long term.
Nebula Group recognized this issue when it came to the largest requirement of PPE - gloves. Through our extensive vetting process of over 6 months, from manufacturing country to manufacturing country, and with the help of very influential partners within the Nebula Group framework, we eliminated a high percentage of factories that did not meet our standards - even though they were currently selling their products within our backyard.

The most important thing to us was ensuring that we covered three main issues that we have seen and heard of over and over again from our customer base... Quality of the product, consistency from one batch to another and, most importantly, the ability to manufacturer the required glove production without delays, ensuring that our customers fulfillment demands were met. After our vetting process concluded, we found a small group of manufacturing facilities that we wanted to partner up with. With our contractual signing between the executive teams, we have established a clear path to ensuring that we have the adequate supply of gloves for our customer network long term as a Nebula Group manufactured product.
